Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. I'm Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: Each of us have our good share of defenses. A defense is something that protects us and yet, if you think of it, as a fence or a boundary, it can also isolate us and keep us lonely and separate.
Owen Williams: Our defenses could be excuses that we make or distractions that we engage in to avoid being present. It could be a fear.
Owen Williams: Our work is to identify our own defenses. Now people who love us and care about us can identify them for us. And yet that's really vulnerable and in and of itself can bring up our defenses. What are you defended against? What are your defenses? Questions worth exploring.
Owen Williams: Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember it's later than you think.
