Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. I'm Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: It's inevitable that if we're going to be in a relationship that we're going to end up feeling hurt from time to time – not because our partners intend to hurt us, not because our family members intend to hurt us, but because this is what happens.
Owen Williams: There are people who decide they don't want to get hurt any longer. And so they withdraw from relationship. And ostensibly they think that's a level of protectiveness that will allow them to feel safe. And yet we all long to be connected. It's true, our cat or dog can't really hurt us but they don't necessarily give us what we need in relationship. We will get our hearts broken even to people who love each other and intend to stay together for the rest of their lives. One will usually die before the other and the result will be a broken heart. This is inevitable in relationship.
Owen Williams: Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember it's later than you think.
