Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. I'm Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: If in your relationship you talk about something and you both get triggered or your partner gets triggered then write about it.
Owen Williams: Writing about a difficult topic allows you to get clear firstly for yourself and then possibly for your partner – to be able to give them a distilled version of the issue or topic that you want to have a conversation about. It will allow you to write about the outcome that you want to get from having this conversation. And it will give you some insight into what is it exactly that triggers you or potentially triggers your partner.
Owen Williams: And it's not that we should avoid the things that trigger each other. They can be gifts in a way, but it will allow you to have an intelligent, productive and helpful conversation.
Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember, it's later than you think.
