Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. I'm Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: Here's a question I get asked frequently; how do you get a man to read a self-help book?
Owen Williams: Well the short answer is you don't. It's a well-known fact that self-help books are bought more by women than men. When we're excited by a book or deem it to be important to read, naturally will want to share it with a partner -especially if we believe they can benefit from reading it and our relationship can benefit from it.
Owen Williams: But this will often become a source of frustration. For you both. Here's how you solve that problem. Highlight a passage from the book and ask your partner to read that passage and have a conversation with you about it. That's a much gentler entry to an idea, to a concept and to a book if it becomes important to you.
Owen Williams: Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember it's later than you think.
