Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot.com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. My name is Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: Know your own limits… Whether you're starting a new job or a new relationship, it's important that you know your own limits and boundaries.
Owen Williams: I recall a contractor talking to me about some work that I wanted him to do and he said to me "you can expect me to show up at 9 o'clock and leave at 4:00". He said "I work to support my family so I never stay after 4:00 because part of supporting my family is being there for them after I've done my day's work. He said "You can count on me to show up on time and to work while I'm here."
Owen Williams: Now I appreciated his limits and his boundaries because it made working together very easy. Where do you need to set your own limits and your own boundaries in your relationships? Where do you need to disappoint another so that you don't disappoint yourself?
Owen Williams: Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember, it's later than you think.
