Announcer: The following minute is brought to you by Relationship Excellence dot com.
Owen Williams: Welcome to The Relationship Minute. My name's Owen Williams.
Owen Williams: One of the ways that we can rob our parents of joy is to screw up our own lives. If we're angry with our parents for what ever reason, and we haven't found a way to work through our anger, to release it, to understand what's underneath our anger and get past it – one way to get back at our parents is actually to mess up our own lives. And we might not even be conscious that we're doing this but I've watched people hurt themselves because they felt injured in some way by their parent's action or sometimes their inaction.
Owen Williams: So I invite you to look at if your life isn't working. If you're struggling and your parents are suffering as a result of it, you might be holding some anger that you need to release – that has nothing to do with your parents. Remember a parent is only as happy as their unhappiest child.
Thank you for taking The Relationship Minute and remember it's later than you think.
